Hamakogetsu
Newly opened in May 2016! This ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) with restaurant and hot springs, is located close to Nagahama Castle and Lake Biwa. Situated close to Nagahama Station, the high-speed ferry port for Chikubu Island, and the main sightseeing spots and urban areas.
How to get there?
From Nagahama Station (JR Hokuriku Line), West Exit: About 10 min on foot.
By car: Exit the Hokuriku Expressway at Nagahama IC and continue along Koshu Road for about 10 min. Head towards Lake Biwa and Nagahama Castle History Museum.
L'Hotel du Lac
This hotel is situated in a vast, 130,000 square-meter plot of lush, green land. Guests can marvel at the superb view overlooking Lake Biwa. The spacious design with a simple, modern touch allows guests to unwind and enjoy a luxurious lodging experience.
How to get there?
By car: Exit the Hokuriku Expressway at Kinomoto IC and continue along Route 8 for about 10 min (5 km), then Route 303 for about 8 min (4 km). Turn left at the Ouraguchi intersection and proceed for 2 km, then turn right at the Oura intersection for another 3 km.
Sugatani Onsen
Sugatani Onsen (hot spring) inn is a lone mountain village inn with a reddish-brown hydrogen carbonate spring and large shared bath and open-air bath. The inn offers kaiseki (traditional multi-course cuisine) and nabe (food cooked in a pot at the table), using delicacies of the seasons.
How to get there?
From Maibara Station (JR Tokaido Shinkansen): Take a JR Hokuriku Line train bound for Tsuruga and get off at Kawake Station (about 20 minutes). About 60 minutes on foot, or 5 minutes by taxi from there.
By car: Exit the Hokuriku Expressway at Nagahama IC and continue along Route 365 for about 15 minutes (8 km).
Onoe Onsen Ryokan Beniayu
Located right in front of Lake Biwako, Ryokan Beniayu offers Japanese-style accommodations with a private open-air hot-spring bath and a massage chair. Guests can also enjoy the public indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and relax with a massage. A free shuttle is available from JR Takatsuki Train Station, which is a 15-minute drive away. Guests who wish to use the shuttle must make a reservation upon booking.

The air-conditioned rooms feature Yukata robes, tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each includes a flat-screen TV, a fridge and an electric kettle. Comes with an en suite bathroom and guests can borrow an iPad at the front desk.

Guests can purchase gifts at the souvenir shop and enjoy singing at the karaoke room. Luggage storage is available and free wireless Internet access (Wi-Fi) is provided at the lobby area and in all guestrooms.

A traditional multi-course meal is served for dinner. A Japanese set menu is served for breakfast at the dining room.

Beniayu Ryokan is a 30-minute drive from Nagahama Castle Historic Museum and a 25-minute drive from Shakudo-ji Temple. Hikone Castle is a 50-minute drive away.

The large communal baths are available 6:00 - 9:30 and 14:00 - 12:00 (midnight).

From Kinomoto Station (JR Hokuriku Line): about 5 minutes by taxi.
By train: At Nagahama Station (JR Biwa Line), transfer to the Hokuriku Line and get off at Kinomoto Station (5 minutes). (Pick up service at the station is available.) By car: Head north along the Meishin Expressway Maihara JCT, Hokkaido Expressway Kinomoto IC and Route 365. Make a left turn at the inn's signboard on the left and it will be 1,500 meters ahead to your right.
Green Hotel Yes Nagayama Minatokan
A 5-minute walk from JR Nagahama Station's Biwa-ko (Lake Biwa) Exit. Relax in large manmade hot springs. This 5-star hotel has guest rooms with open-air baths as well. Convenient for sightseeing in the black wall area (Kurokabe) and Kohoku.
