Karatsu Seaside Hotel

Ryokan Yoyokaku
This ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) blends the beauty of modern architecture with the tradition of the Taisho era (1912-1926). The garden with old pine trees is filled with the sound of sea. It also offers kaiseki (traditional multi-course dinner) with fresh ingredients.

From Karatsu Station (JR Chikuhi Line, Karatsu Line): About 20 min on foot or 7 min by taxi.
By car: Exit the Nishi-Kyushu Expressway at Maebaru IC and continue along Route 202 (Nijo Hamatama Doro) for about 30 min (25 km) towards Karatsu Castle.
Uohan
This Japanese-style inn features baths with a captivating view of Nijinomatsubara (an old pine forest that is an officially designated scenic site). Guests can also look forward to fresh seafood from the Genkai Sea. The Nijinomatsubara Long Beach is just a short stroll from the inn. By car: Exit the Nishi-Kyushu Expressway at Hamatama IC and continue for about 3 minutes. Head towards Saburo Sushi.
Karatsu Onsen Wataya

By car: Exit the Nijo Hamatama By-pass at Hamasaki IC and continue along Route 202 for about 10 min (7 km) towards Karatsu Castle.
Tabiyado Yobuko
This lodging - located just 30 minutes by taxi from Karatsu Station - overlooks the Genkai Sea, and offers warm hospitality and delicious Japanese-style cuisine prepared using fresh local seafood.
How to get there?
From Karatsu Station (JR Chikuhi Line): Take a bus bound for Yobuko to the Yobuko bus stop (45 min). It is about 5 min by taxi from there.
By car: Exit the Nagasaki Expressway at the Taku IC and take Route 203 for about 60 min.
Ryokan Kanamaru

How to get there?
From Fukuoka Airport: Take a Kuko Subway Line train bound for Nishikaratsu to Nishikaratsu Station. Then take a bus to the Yobuko bus stop (25 min), and it is 5 min on foot from there.

From Fukuoka Airport: About 100 min by bus at around JPY 1,500 (as of Sep. 2016).
From Karatsu Station (JR Chikuhi Line): About 25 min by taxi at around JPY 5,000 (as of June 2010).
From Yobuko Bus Stop: About 5 min by taxi at around JPY 650 (as of June 2010). Pick-up service is also available from the Yobuko bus stop.
By car: Exit the Nishi-Kyushu Expressway at Karatsu IC and continue along Route 204. Head towards the Nagoya Ohashi Bridge.
Mizuno Ryokan
An authentic Japanese-style inn where guests can enjoy regional, seasonal seafood cuisine such as sea bass fresh from the nearby Genkai Sea, served on the local, traditional porcelain. All guest rooms look out over the Karatsu Bay.
