This hotel is located in the hot spring resort in mountains in southern Nagano and was reopened in 2002.
Takeda Shingen, a feudal lord and one of the most famous military leaders in the history of Japan, is said to have loved the tranquil, secluded hot springs of this inn.
*The large communal bath is abailable from check-in to 9:00. The open-air bath, cave bath, and dry sauna (gender-segregated) are available from 6:00 - 8:30 and 14:00 - 22:00.
How to get there?
From Nagoya Station (JR Tokaido Main Line, Tokaido Shinkansen): Take the JR Tokaido Main Line and get off at Toyohashi Station. Then take the JR Iida Line bound for Tenryukyo and get off at Tenryukyo Station. It is 20 minutes by taxi from there.
From Iida Station (JR Iida Line): 30 minutes by route bus or taxi.
From Tokyo Station: Take the JR Line to Shinjuku Station. Then take the JR Chuo Main Line bound for Matsumoto and get off at Chino Station. From there, take the Hirugami Onsen (hot spring) direct shuttle bus (85 minutes, fare applies).
