*Please note that while Uchinomaki Station is marked as the closest station on the map, access is actually more convenient from the neighboring Aso Station.

By car: Exit the Kyushu Expressway at Mashiki-Kumamotokuko IC and continue along Prefectural Routes 36 and 206 for about 13 km (about 25 min), then along Green Road for about 30 km (about 45 min). Head towards Aso Milk Bokujo.
Sozankyo
This ryokan is related to the Meiji-era poets Hiroshi and Akiko Yosano, and a small alcove on the premises contains an inscription of one of Hiroshi's famous poems. Sozankyo's baths are fed by 100% natural hot springs, and are open all night long.
How to get there?
From Aso Station (JR Hohi Main Line): Take a bus bound for Uchinomaki Onsen to the Shokokai-mae bus stop (about 15 min). It is about 2 min on foot from there.
By car: Exit the Kyushu Expressway at the Kumamoto IC and continue on National Route 57 for about 50 min (35 km). Then take Prefectural Route 175 and drive for 7 min (4 km) towards the Aso Post Office.
Airport Hotel Kumamoto
