How to get there?
From New Chitose Airport: Head to the New Chitose Airport Station and take the JR Hakodate Main Line to Otaruchikko Station. Leave from the southern exit and take a Chuo Bus bound for Asarigawa Onsen to the Onsensakaue bus stop (about 20 min). It is less than 1 min on foot from there.

From JR Otaru-Chikko Station: Take the bus bound for Asarigawa Onsen and get off at Onsen-Sakaue Bus Stop (approx. 20 min). About 2 min on foot from there.
By Car: Exit the Sasson Expressway at Asari IC and continue along Prefecutural Route 1 towards Jozankei for about 5 min.
Ginrinsou
This well-established inn of only 18 rooms first opened its doors more than 130 years ago and continues to welcome guests to the North with sincere hospitality to this day. Located in the highlands of Hiraisomisaki, it stands some 60 meters above sea level and provides a sweeping view of Otaru Bay and the town, with the yacht harbor and Bay City just below. The inn's large, stone-craft open-air bath affords guests a view of Ishikari Bay as they soak in the inn's famed hot springs which are pumped from a private source. Ginrinsou offers up delicious kaiseki cuisine centered around seafood and made with fine Hokkaido ingredients.

Otarunai Backpackers Hostel Mori no Ki
This Japanese-style guesthouse has a lingering feeling of home, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. And though it is a small, old lodging, it hosts guests from across the globe. It is also very close to Otaru Canal.
How to get there?
Check the map for details. Please note that there are many hills in Otaru so it could be tiring if guests are not accustomed to this terrain. There are stone steps up to the inn entrance as well.

By car: Exit the Sasson Expressway at Otaru IC and continue along National Route 5 and Prefectural Route 17. Head towards the Suiten-gu Shrine torii gate.
