How to get there?
From JR Ueda Station: Take the Ueda Railway Bessho Line to Bessho Onsen Station (about 30 minutes). Then take an Ueda Kotsu Bessho route bus to each ryokan and get off at the Bessho Onsen bus stop (about 5 minutes). It is about 8 minutes on foot from there. Alternatively, tell the hotel of arrival at Ueda Station before and they will pick guests up.
By car: Exit the Joshin-etsu Expressway at the Ueda-Sugadaira IC and continue along National Route 18 for about 20 minutes (10 km), then Prefectural Route Bessho Line for about 20 minutes (10 km).

This single-building inn stands amongst the green of the mountains and one may even see a kingfisher flying around the hotel's pond. The hotel's symbol was taken after the kingfisher. The open-air baths also provide an excellent panorama of the surrounding area.
How to get there?
From Ueda Station (Joshin-Etsu Shinkansen): Take the Bessho line to Bessho Onsen Station. It is about 13 minutes on foot or about 5 minutes by taxi from there.

By car: Exit the Joshin-etsu Expressway at Ueda-Sugadaira IC and continue along prefectural route for about 14 km (about 30 min). Head towards Bessho Onsen Station.

This ryokan is located in the heart of Bessho Onsen, the oldest hot spring area in Nagano. Uematsuya boasts own-grown traditional kaiseki course cuisine and hot spring baths constantly replenished from the inn's own source. From Ueda Station (JR Hokuriku Shinkansen): Take the Ueda Railway Bessho Line bound for Bessho Onsen and get off at Bessho Onsen Station (about 30 min). It is about 10 min on foot from there. Alternatively, take the Bessho Onsen jointly-operated shuttle bus service.
By car: Exit the Joshin-etsu Expressway at Ueda-Sugadaira IC and continue along Route 18 for about 6 km (about 10 min), then Route 143 for about 12 km (about 20 min). Head towards Kitamuki Kannon Temple.
