Tamagawa Onsen
Tamagawa Onsen has radium hot springs, a rarity in the world. Its water is highly acidic, mainly composed of hydrochloric acid. It is said that its properties make it a highly effective medicinal hot spring bath.
How to get there?
From Tazawako Station (JR Akita Shinkansen): take the bus bound for Hachimanta-chojo and get off at Tamagawa Onsen. Less than 1 min on foot from there.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Morioka IC and continue along Route 36 to Route 341 for about 120 min (80 km).
Hotel Kosintei
Enjoy beautiful views of Lake Tazawa from all guestrooms and try some of Akita Prefectures seasonal local delicacies. This hotel features a men's communal bath made from Aomori cypress and a women's rock bath built using Tazawako stone.

Komagatake Onsen
A lodging that faces two clear streams. It also has an abundance of hot spring water as it has its own source. On site are private open-air baths, and communal open-air baths separate for men and women. There is also an indoor bath made with local wood, delicious soba noodles made with water sourced from underground.
How to get there?
From Akita Airport: about 120 min by taxi.
From Tazawako Station (JR Tazawako Line): about 15 min by taxi.
Alternatively, about 15 min by bus. Take the Nyuto Line bus to Kyuyo Center-mae. Last bus is at around 18:00.
Please call on the day before boarding the bus. A staff will pick you up at the bus stop.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Morioka IC and continue along Route 46 and Route 341. Turn right at the Kosendatsu intersection. About 3 km from there. Landmark: blue signboard with the hotel name in the Mizusawa Onsenkyo hot spring town.
Akita Art Village Onsen Yupopo
Our hotel is located in Tazawako Art Village. It is popular for the Warabi theater (performing all year round) and the pub / restaurant the supplies local beer.
How to get there?
From JR Akita Shinkansen Kakunodate Station: 7 mins by car. From Tohoku Expressway Morioka IC: 70 mins (60 km)
Shin Tamagawa Onsen

How to get there?
From Tazawako Station (JR Akita Shinkansen): Take a Hachimantai Line bus bound for Shin Tamagawa Onsen and get off at the Shin Tamagawa Onsen bus stop (about 70 min). It is less than 1 min on foot from there.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Morioka IC and continue along Route 46 from Morioka to Tazawako for about 40 min (39 km), and then on to Route 341 from Tazawako to Shin Tamagawa Onsen for about 60 min (40 km).
Plaza Hotel Sanrokuso Bekkan Shikisai
This hotel features the famous Mizusawa Onsen hot spring in the large bath and open-air bath, as well as two reservable cypress baths. Relax over a meal at the restaurant after a day on the slopes at the Tazawako Ski Resort just 3 minutes away.

By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Morioka IC and continue along National Route 46 for about 60 minutes, then Prefectural Route 127. Head towards the Eneos gasoline stand.

Kakunodate Onsen Kayokan
Kayokan is situated in Kakunodate, called the "Little Kyoto" of Akita. After enjoying walks around the samurai residences with seasonal views, guests can relax in a variety of baths and enjoy local cuisine using seasonal ingredients.
How to get there?
From Akita Airport: About 50 minutes by taxi.
By car: Exit the Akita Expressway at Kyowa IC and continue along Route 46 for about 25 minutes (25 km).
Katakuri no Hana

How to get there?
From Tazawako Station (JR Akita Shinkansen): Take the bus bound for Nyuto Onsen and get off at Koen-Iriguchi (about 12 minutes). About 2 minutes on foot from there.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Morioka IC and continue along Route 46 for about 50 minutes (40 km), then continue along Route 341 for about 10 minutes (6 km) toward Lake Tazawa.
Kashintei Shirahama

From Akita Airport: Take an airport limousine bus bound for JR Akita Station and get off at Akita Station. Then take the JR Akita Shinkansen and get off at Tazawako Station. It is about 10 min by taxi from there.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Morioka IC and continue along Route 46 for about 45 km, then Route 341 for about 7 km (about 15 min). Head towards Tazawako Konjiki Daikannon (Bodhisattva Statue).
Ganiba Onsen

How to get there?
From Tazawako Station (JR Akita Shinkansen): Approx. 1 min on foot. Head down the stairs at the JR Tazawako Station exit, immediately turn left and continue on for approx. 80 m, and it is approx. 1 min from there.
Komagatake Grand Hotel
Located on high ground at an elevation of 700 meters, this hotel offers views of the various seasonal expressions of the Komagatake Mountains from the windows of its guest rooms. Guests can also look forward to soaking in hot spring baths with water drawn directly from the source, to soothe both mind and body.

By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Morioka IC and continue along Route 46 for about 80 minutes (53 km), then take Route 341.

From Tazawako Station (JR Tazawako Line): about 15 min by taxi at around JPY 3,900 (as of Aug. 2015). There is a public regular bus that departs every hour from JR Tazawako Station. Take the bus bound for Nyuto Onsen or Tazawako Kogen and get off at Mizusawa Onsenkyo-mae. The hotel is 3 min on foot from the bus stop.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Morioka IC and continue along Route 46 heading towards Akita. Continue through Prefectural Route 127. Landmark: Mizusawa Onsenkyo signboard.
