Oga Banseikaku
As an inn operated by a family of fishermen, Oga Banseikaku prides itself on seafood dishes using only the freshest ingredients. Guests are offered a chance to taste the seasonal delights harvested from the Sea of Japan.
How to get there?
From JR Akita Station: Take the JR Oga Line bound for Oga and get off at Hadachi Station (about 55 minutes). Then, take the Oga Kita route bus bound for Oga Suizokukan-mae (Oga Aquarium GAO) or Nyudozaki and get off at Onsen Chuo (about 40 minutes). The hotel is about 1 minute on foot from there.
By car: Exit the Akita Expressway at Showa-Ogahanto IC and continue along Prefectural Route 101 for about 45 minutes (36 km).
Oga Hotel
This hotel's open-air baths boast the largest level of water flowing from the onsen source along with a cozy environment of seasonally changing mountains and the sound of the Japan Sea. This hotel was the first to serve rustic isoyaki-style dishes in a dining room atmosphere.
How to get there?
From Akita Station (JR Akita Shinkansen): Take the JR Oga Line bound for Oga and get off at Hadachi Station (approx. 55 min). Then take the bus (Oga-Kita Line) bound for Toga/Kamo/Nyudosaki and get off at Onsen-Chuo Bus Stop (approx. 45 min). About 1 min on foot from there.
Seiko Grand Hotel
Located in the center of the onsen resort area, this hotel is convenient for taking walks. The hotel has large shared baths and open-air baths that produce great amounts of water, as well as saunas. The seafood banquet-style dinners mainly consist of salted fish stews and other seasonal seafood.
How to get there?
From Akita Airport: Take a limousine bus from the airport to Akita Station. From there, board the JR Oga Line bound for Oga and get off at Hadachi Station (about 50 min). Take a Oga-kita Line bus bound for Nyudozaki/Kamo and get off at the Seiko Grand Hotel-mae bus stop (about 40 min). It is less than 1 min on foot from there.
Umi to Irihi no Yado Teisui
Marvel at the breathtaking view of the beautiful sea and sunset from the open-air bath, and savor delectable dishes made with fresh local ingredients of Oga. Guests will surely feel refreshed by taking a break in this relaxing inn.
How to get there?
From Oga Station (JR Oga Line): Take the bus bound for Yumoto Chuzaisho. From there, take the Toga Kamo line bus (reservation required) to Oga Suizokukan (Oga Aquarium Gao) (15 min). From there it takes about 10 minutes on foot.
By car: Exit the Akita Expressway at the Showa Ogahanto IC and continue along Route 101 for about 50 minutes (60 km).
Yuzankaku (Oga Onsen)
This hotel has its own unique hot spring source that changes color with the seasons, and is used to constantly fill the baths. In one bath, hot spring water is channeled through the mouth of a "Namahage," a Japanese demon. There is also an outdoor stone bath.
How to get there?
From Akita Station (JR Akita Shinkansen): Take the JR Oga Line train bound for Oga and get off at Hadachi Station (about 60 minutes). About 15 minutes by taxi from there.
By car: Exit the Akita Expressway at Showa-Ogahanto IC and continue along Route 101 for about 40 minutes (35 km).
Oga Onsen Yui no Yado Bettei Tsubaki
The ocean in the Oga region can be seen from all guestrooms and the lobby lounge, and on clear days, it is possible to see the mountain range of Shirakami-Sanchi on the opposite shore and the sunrise in the morning after accommodation. Guests can enjoy two free-flowing hot spring sources with indoor and open-air baths. For meals, guests can enjoy Oga regional cuisine prepared with fresh seafood and mountain bounties.

From Hadachi Station (JR Oga Line): Take a bus to the Oga Grand Hotel-mae bus stop (40 min).

Ryokan Hamasai
Standing on the southern coast of the Oga Peninsula, this Japanese-style accommodation offers the bounty of the sea and superb views. Look forward to tasting freshly grilled eggplant, fish, and other seafood. The maifan stone bath is open for use 24 hours a day.

From Akita Airport: about 90 min by taxi.
From Oga Station (JR Oga Line): about 15 min by taxi at around JPY 3,000 (as of June 2010). Pick-up service available.
By car: Exit the Akita Expressway at Showa-Ogahanto IC and continue along Route 101. Landmark: southern coast of Oga Peninsula, Tateyamazaki.
