Founded in 1898 during Meiji era (1868-1912), Togetsu Tei, one among the best hotels for strolling in Sagano, is situated at Togetsubashi Minamizume. Inside the hotel, Kitayama Maruta (Kyoto's symbolic tree used in traditional buildings) are all over the place. Scents of Oko (Japanese incense) and sounds of Koto (Traditional Japanese stringed musical instrument) reproduce the true Kyoto atmosphere.
Hot spring water will be available in the Shuzankaku 1st floor large communal baths from 16:00 to 0:00 (midnight) and from 6:00 to 9:00.
How to get there?
From JR Kyoto Station: Take the JR Sagano Line to Saga-Arashiyama Station (15 min), and it is 15 min on foot from there.

How to get there?
From JR Saga-Arashiyama Station (Sanyo Main/Sagano lines): Leave via the North Exit and board a No. 91/93/11 Kyoto City bus bound for Shijo-Karasuma or Kinrinshako to the Hirosawa Goshonouchicho bus stop (about 2 min). It is about 1 min on foot from there.

How to get there?
From JR Kyoto Station: Take a number 28, 71, or 72 bus and alight at the Hankyu Arashiyama-eki Mae bus stop (about 50 min).
From Osaka: Take the Hankyu Kyoto Line from Umeda Station. At Katsura Station, transfer to the Hankyu Arashiyama Line. Get off at Hankyu Arashiyama Station (about 47 min total).

Standing on the opposite shore, with a great view of Arashiyama. A great location for walking around Sagano. The best place to feel the changes in the four seasons is the open-air bath made from cypress wood. The traditional, elegant Japanese kaiseki dishes are also delicious.

The annex Arashiyama Premium Residential Inn opened on April 1, 2017.
After passing through the narrow path from the back of the main building, guests will arrive by the two unique luxury rooms.
The rooms feature a kitchen, cooking utensils, fridge, microwave, and other equipment. Guests can surely use the room as a villa.

The annex Arashiyama Premium Residential Inn is located in an area about 50 meters away from the main building. Views from the rooms are different from those in the main building.
Please note that plans with meals are not offered for the annex. For guests who would like to have dinner and/or breakfast at the main building, an advance notice is required separately.

Supplied by Arashiyama Togetsukyo Bridge, 5 baths are available for use at Arashiyama Onsen hot spring resort (2 open air baths, 2 cypress baths, 1 reservable open air bath). The traditional, elegant Japanese kaiseki dishes are also a specialty.

Regarding the copying of international travelers' passports:

According to law set forth by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, hotel staff must make copies of the passports or residence cards of international guests who do not have Japanese citizenship.
Even if the representative of a group of guests is Japanese, if other guests in the group are non-Japanese citizens their passport(s)/residence card(s) must be photocopied.
Due to government instruction, non-Japanese guests with no passport and no residence card cannot stay at the hotel.
Also, even in the case of cancellation due to such reasons, the usual cancellation fees will still apply, and will be 100% in the case of same-day cancellation.
Please make sure you have your passport before going to the hotel.

From Hankyu Arashiyama Station, Randen Arashiyama Tram Station: About 5 min on foot.
From Saga-Arashiyama Station (JR Sagano Line): About 15 min on foot; 5 min by taxi at around JPY 640 (as of Nov. 2014).
From Kyoto Station: Take the bus to Hankyu Arashiyama Station. Alternatively, take the Kyoto City Bus No. 72, 73, 74, or 83 and get off at the Nakanoshima Park bus stop. It is about 2-3 min on foot from there.
From Osaka Itami Airport: About 80 min by taxi at around JPY 6,000 (as of Nov. 2014).
