Founded in 1898 during Meiji era (1868-1912), Togetsu Tei, one among the best hotels for strolling in Sagano, is situated at Togetsubashi Minamizume. Inside the hotel, Kitayama Maruta (Kyoto's symbolic tree used in traditional buildings) are all over the place. How to get there?
From JR Saga-Arashiyama Station (Sanyo Main/Sagano lines): Leave via the North Exit and board a No. 91/93/11 Kyoto City bus bound for Shijo-Karasuma or Kinrinshako to the Hirosawa Goshonouchicho bus stop (about 2 min). It is about 1 min on foot from there.

Supplied by Arashiyama Togetsukyo Bridge, 5 baths are available for use at Arashiyama Onsen hot spring resort (2 open air baths, 2 cypress baths, 1 reservable open air bath). The traditional, elegant Japanese kaiseki dishes are also a specialty.
Regarding the copying of international travelers' passports:
According to law set forth by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, hotel staff must make copies of the passports or residence cards of international guests who do not have Japanese citizenship.
Even if the representative of a group of guests is Japanese, if other guests in the group are non-Japanese citizens their passport(s)/residence card(s) must be photocopied.
Due to government instruction, non-Japanese guests with no passport and no residence card cannot stay at the hotel.
