Akashiya
A wooden ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) with fragrant wood and an authentically Japanese atmosphere. Guests can soak in the open-air bath while admiring the traditional gardens and the rich, green foliage. The inn also proudly serves delicious cuisine made with ingredients taken from the sea and mountains of Inaba.
How to get there?
From Tottori Station (Chizukyu Line): Take a JR San-in Line train to Iwami Station. It is about 5 min by taxi towards Kaburashima/Iwai.
By car: Exit the Chugoku Expressway at Sayo IC and continue along Routes 373, 53, and 9 for about 110 min (100 km).
Iwaiya
This wooden constructed hotel features traditional style furniture and wild plants and flowers. The cuisine is filled with local flavor and the Matsuba crab served in winter is especially remarkable. The baths here are also unique in that they are filled with water from the bottom.
How to get there?
From Tottori Station (JR San-in Main Line): Take a Nikko Bus bound for Kabushima/Nagatanibashi to the Iwai-Onsen bus stop (60 min). It is 1 min on foot from there.
By car: Exit the Tottori Expressway at Tottori IC and continue on Route 29 and Route 9 for about about 50 min (23 km) toward Iwai Onsen gate.
