From Itoigawa Station (JR Hokuriku Shinkansen) South Exit: Take the JR Oito Line train bound for Minami-Otari and get off at Himekawa Station (about 5 minutes). About 5 minutes on foot from the Main Exit.
Sasakura Onsen Ryuunso
Sasakura Onsen Ryuunso
Hidden in the Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park, this hot spring town is set on a tranquil highland at 460 meters above sea level. The natural onsen (hot springs) contain an abundant amount of sodium bicarbonate, making it smooth and great for the skin. The water is also drinkable.
How to get there?
From Itoigawa Station (JR Hokuriku Shinkansen) Nihonkai Exit: About 30 minutes by taxi, or take the Hayakawa bus bound for Sasakura Onsen and get off at Sasakura Onsen (about 43 minutes). Immediate access from there.
By car: Exit the Hokuriku Expressway at the Itoigawa IC or Nou IC and continue along National Route 8 for about 15 minutes (10 km), then continue along Prefectural Route 270 for about 20 minutes (14 km). Near Hayakawabashi Nishi intersection.
