Discover 1,200 years of history in Kyoto, Japan's capital from 794 to 1868. Visit Nijo Castle, the residence of the Tokugawa era shoguns, marvel at the gold-leaf covered Golden Pavilion and take a stroll through its exquisite surrounding garden. Take in Kyoto Imperial Palace and watch traditional artisans work their craft at the Kyoto Handicraft Center, where you can purchase locally made items.

One day before

Train tickets and itinerary are delivered to your hotel or other address within Japan at least one day prior to departure.

Day 1: Tokyo - Kyoto

Proceed to Tokyo Station on your own and board the Shinkansen Hikari super express for Kyoto listed on your ticket. Specific departure times or seat assignments cannot be designated.
The departure time from Tokyo will be between 6:20 a.m. and 7:20 a.m.
Arrive in Kyoto between 9:10 a.m. and 9:55 a.m.

After arrival in Kyoto, free at leisure to explore. Hotel check-in times will be listed in the itinerary you receive along with your ticket. You may leave your luggage with your hotel before checking in.
Stay overnight at your accommodation in Kyoto.

Day 2: Kyoto - Tokyo

Free at leisure until departure.

Proceed to Kyoto station on your own and board the Shinkansen Hikari super express for Tokyo listed on your ticket. Specific departure times or seat assignments cannot be designated.
The departure time from Kyoto will be between 11:50 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Arrive in Tokyo between 2:40 p.m. and 4:40 p.m.

1. Transportation fees included in this tour are the one-way or round trip train fare by shinkansen as designated in the tour itinerary. All other fees will be personally borne. These discounted tickets are offered only as a part of this package. Tickets cannot be sold on their own.

2. Please book at least 8 working days prior to your desired departure. Make sure to include information on your place of stay immediately prior to departure, including address, phone number, and check-in date so that we may deliver your train tickets. If staying at a personal residence in Japan, please inform us of the landlord's name as well.

3. If you need to make any changes after making reservations, please call no later than eight business days before your departure date. If you decide to cancel the tour after receiving your tickets, please send the tickets back to Sunrise Center.

4. This tour includes reserved seat tickets for a shinkansen departing within the designated time periods as listed in the tour itinerary. Seat assignments and specific departure times within that time period cannot be designated.

5. Please note that your shinkansen tickets will not be reissued or replaced if you lose them after receipt. In those circumstances, you will have to purchase normal tickets at your own expense.

6. This tour is offered to travelers from overseas only.

7. Tour grade R includes one breakfast and one dinner.

8. Please note that while special requests for room types or non-smoking rooms are passed on to the hotel at the time of reservation, accommodating such requests is at the discretion of the hotel, and no guarantees are made as to availability. If you wish to confirm the status of your request, please contact JAPANiCAN Customer Support from at most three days before your check-in date.
