Experience Japan's national sport!

This Japanese-style wrestling dates from ancient times and is thus full of rituals. Six tournaments are held each year; Tokyo hosts three tournaments annually.

1:40 p.m.

Depart Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal to visit the following by bus and on foot. *Report at least 10 minutes prior to departure.

Ryogoku Kokugikan (240 min)

Take part in the New Year's, summer, or autumn tournament at a sumo arena that can accommodate up to 13 thousand spectators in one sitting.

6:00 - 6:30 p.m.

All events conclude. Return to hotel on own.

Please note that you may have to wait to be taken to your seat if one of the following such events is underway at the time: a sumo match, the ring entering procession of the Makuuchi division wrestlers (dohyoiri), the ring entering procession of the Yokozuna, the sanyakusoroibumi ritual stomping ceremony, or a speech by the Sumo Association. In such a case, you will be taken to your seat when the event is over.
