Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden

Former imperial garden & a real refreshing oasis within a bustling hub

The Shinjuku Gyoen was a residence, which was used as a second house of Takato Clan, Naito Family. In 1879, it became the Shinjuku Plant Gyoen(Shinjuku Shokubutsu Gyoen) and it was used for official garden parties and such, for the imperial family but it was opened to the public after the war. Currently, it is a vast national park that has an area of about 583,000 square meters. Open 09:00-16:00 (the garden closes at 16:30). Closed: Every Monday(If in the case of holiday on Monday, it will be closed on the next day). Exceptions: Open everyday through March 25 and April 24.

Chidorigafuchi

A delightful boat rowing experience on a spectacular sight of cherry trees shades on Edo ruins

One of the inner moat of the Edo Castle where many cherry trees were planted in 1955 and in 1985 to 1988. Presently, this is one of the most notable sight in the center of the city where people are able to enjoy the view of the cherry trees that extend branches to the water, from the boats or the green walkway. There are about 711 cherry trees including those in Kitanomaru Park and Chidorigabuchi Park.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine

Combine history & beauty! Right next to the city of Kamakura, an ancient capital of Japan!

This place originated in 1063, when Minamotono Yoriyoshi moved Iwashimizuhachimangu Shrine from Kyoto to Yuigoutsurugaoka and had a celebration while the Abeno Sadatou Clan subjugation of Oshu (a former name referring to todays' 4 prefectures of Iwate, Fukushima, Miyagi , Aomori and North East part of Akita prefecture) was on their way home. Minamotono Yoritomo placed it in the current location later on. Beautiful scenes are enjoyables all four seasons of the year and are favored as Kamakura's walking trail with splendid cherry blossoms

Osaka Castle

One of Japan's most magnificent castle within a myriad of cherry blossom tones!

A 107ha historical park which surround the Osaka Castle built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1537-1598) in 1583, with a large number of remaining important cultural properties. There are about 4000 cherry blossom trees planted in the surrounding park. For example, Nishinomaru Park possess about 600 cherry trees mainly from the someiyoshino-kind. For a week long, from the end of March to the beginning of April, cherry blossoms are lit up with night illuminations as "cherry blossom viewing nights" in which you can admire the beautiful nocturnal view of cherry blossoms with the Tenshukaku (tower of Osaka Castle) in the background.

Yoshinoyama (Mt. Yoshino)

30000 cherry blossoms blooming luxuriously and gorgeously!

The legend says that a magician of the name of En-No-Gyojya opened Kinpusenji Temple on top of the mountain at the time of Asuka Period (6th-7th century) and carved the shape of Buddha on the mountain's cherry trees. Since then, Mt. Yoshino is filled with nursery cherry trees donated by his believers. Yoshino Jingu Shrine and the area around the ropeway are called "Shimosenbon", the area near Yoshinomikumari Shrine is called "Kamisenbon", and the deeper region Saigyoan is called "Okusenbon", and about 30000 cherry blossoms bloom one after another for about 3 weeks. The whole ridge that leads for about 8km to the north and the north and south of Omine Mountains becomes cherry pink.
