Stayed here for only 24hrs, but the experience will remembered for years. The quality of service, food, baths etc were second-to-none. The outdoor bath was fantastic - full body regeneration. The staff are all very attentive and friendly. Make sure you borrow a Yakuta.

The ornate exterior of Fukuzumiro.
Fukuzumiro, a favorite of famous Japanese authors and artists, is a traditional estate which stretches back from the main entrance and street, creating a relaxing, peaceful atmosphere. Located close to Hakone Yumoto Station, it features natural hot spring baths supplied with water right from the source which are open 24 hours a day.
This classical Japanese-style ryokan is a registered tangible cultural property as designated by the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs. In the interest of preserving the historical building, the 18 guest rooms are not equipped with bathing facilities or toilets to avoid water damage.
A Stay in a Japanese Cultural Property: Hakone, Tonosawa Onsen, Fukuzumiro
The service is very friendly and familiar and the food was excellent. Definitely recommended to get a perfect insight into the Japanese Ryokan-tradition.

Yoshiike's heart is its serene Japanese garden, complete with koi swimming through its pond and the perfect place for an early-morning stroll.
Conveniently accessible, Yoshiike is just a seven-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station, starting point for all excursions into Hakone.
Upon check-in guests will find cozy rooms and seasonal cuisine, as well as several hot spring options, including outdoor baths with views of Yoshiike's garden.
Gardens were well kept in excellent condition, very romantic and service was TOP quality! The baths were great, outdoor and indoor bath for females only - also private family baths available were excellent. Everyone working there was very helpful and massage was very relaxing and at a good price. Highly recommend!

"Mizunoto" - Literally "the sound of water." As befits its name, this ryokan is awash in the relaxing melody of flowing water. It boasts 43 Japanese-style rooms, complete with outdoor baths. The waters filling its baths come from Kowakidani and Miyanoshita, two of Hakone's famed 17 springs. Including the shared baths, outdoor baths and three reservable baths located in the garden area, this ryokan boasts a total of seven unique baths to enjoy.
Natural Tranquility and Hot Springs: Mizunoto Ryokan
Amazing experience! A MUST do in Tokyo. The pictures don't do this place justice. Once you're there expect Japanese Onsen at its finest. The food was spectacular, service was amazing and surprisingly had several English speaking workers that were more than kind. We were in the new wing with a 5th floor view that was breathtaking. Worth every penny!!!!

A gorgeous view of Mt. Fuji from the women's outdoor bath.
With a commanding view of Mt. Fuji and its own natural hot spring, this hotel is in a fantastic location. In fact, both men and women can enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji together from the outdoor bath (though the view of the famed mountain from the women-only bath is particularly stunning).
We went to Hakone as a family (4 people) during our visit to Japan. The hotel was situated in a fantastic location, overlooking Mount Fuji with very easy access. We stayed in Japanese rooms with stunning views and had 2 meals - Japanese set dinner and buffet breakfast which were both fantastic. The onsen was not big but was quite clean and comfortable. The service was excellent as well. Overall a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Hakone.
