Great service throughout our stay. Food was excellent both for dinner and our western breakfast. Very quiet location away from most of the city noise.

Guest are wrapped in Kamogawakan's sumptious style from the moment they step foot inside.
Nestled on the banks of the Kamogawa River, next to the famous Sanjo Ohashi Bridge, Kamogawakan`s close proximity to subway stations and bus terminals makes it ideal for getting out and experiencing historic Kyoto.
Even without leaving the comfort of their rooms, guests staying in one section of Kamogawakan can feast their eyes on the pure waters of the Kamogawa River rushing down from the scenic Higashiyama mountains.
The ryokan is also offering special summer plans, giving customers a chance to enjoy traditional kaiseki cuisine or take home a yukata (light cotton kimono worn in the summer)!
They were much more flexible overall than has been my experience traveling in Japan. The location is ideal--very central--sanjo between the river and pontocho.

This was an absolutely incredible place to be! Tucked away in the mountains and crossing the river on a suspension bridge made this an incredibly wonderful place to stay. The staff was very friendly and the food was absolutely incredible!
