The museum houses about 3,000 valuable Japanese dolls made during the Japanese Edo-era (1603-1867) and as late as the early Showa-era (1926-1989). The exhibits include marionettes and Kyoho-bina (Hina Dolls) and at any one time the regular exhibition consists of 50 to 60 dolls. In the workshop visitors can themselves have a go at doll making.
