Inquiries, changes to reservations and cancellations can be made in the following ways.

About reservations.

1.Online Reservation Confirmations and Cancellations

Reservations can be confirmed and cancelled online.

Online cancellation on the arrival date for lodging plans without a meal or with a breakfast should be made before 5 PM (Japan time). Cancellations for lodging plans with dinner must be made by noon (Japan time).

Online cancellations may not be possible depending on facilities if there has been any change in the booking history. Please contact us by E-mail or telephone at least 5 days prior to your stay (excluding Sundays and holidays in Japan).

For important information about how your card will be refunded and/or charged for cancellation fees (if applicable), please refer to Refunds for Cancellation.

Find Your Reservation

Payment in Advance: You can use the box on the right to search for your reservation by entering your confirmation number and billing phone number (these can be found in your confirmation email). If you are a JAPANiCAN.com member and logged in to make your reservation, please use the box on the left to log in first.

Payment on Arrival: To make a payment-on-arrival reservation, you must be a JAPANiCAN.com member. To cancel a payment-on-arrival reservation, you must log in using the box on the left below. Payment-on-arrival reservations cannot be cancelled by using the box on the right (confirmation number and phone number).

Certain types of cancellation as outlined below require contact to Customer Support. The contact information can be found lower on this page.

Please note that cancellation fees are set by lodging establishments and vary depending on the establishment. Cancellation fees will still be assessed according to each establishment's cancellation policy even if you contact Customer Support.

  1. 1. Cancellation of reservations for lodging made after 5:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time on the date of the stay. For reservations including dinner, cancellations made after noon.
  2. 2. You can change your reservation dates and number of guests by simply cancelling and re-booking yourself online. For other types of changes or last minute changes, please contact Customer Support.
  3. 3. Certain lodging facilities. If a "*" appeared in the table showing the establishment's cancellation policy during the booking process, you must contact Customer Support to inquire about the policy as well as to cancel.

It should be noted that cancellations requested by email are based on the time the email is received. Email received after 5:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time are considered received on the following business day.

Refunds for Cancellation

When cancelling a Payment in Advance hotel reservation (in which case your credit card was charged the cost for the reservation at the time of booking), the full amount initially charged will be refunded to your card in Japanese Yen (JPY). If a cancellation fee was incurred, the cancellation fee then be charged to the same card.

For Payment on Arrival hotel reservations (in which you provided a card to guarantee the booking and were to pay the reservation cost at check-in), your card was not charged the cost of the reservation. If a cancellation fee was incurred, the cancellation fee will be charged to your credit card at the time of cancellation.

Please note that your credit card company may charge handling fees for international transactions (including charges and refunds). As such, a handling fee may be charged by your credit card company at the time of cancellation. Such fees are unrelated to JAPANiCAN.com, so please contact your credit card company to inquire.

JAPANiCAN.com deals exclusively in Japanese Yen (JPY). Exchange rates used to convert charges and refunds to the currency used by your credit card are decided by your credit card company. Please contact your credit card company to inquire.

Refunds cannot be issued in cash.

Refunds are processed upon completion of cancellation, but the refund may not be credited immediately depending on your credit card company. Please make inquiries regarding the status of a refund directly to your credit card company.
