Operating Instructions

Main Screen

1 Map: displays area around hotel
2 Control Panel: alters contents shown on map
3 Hotel Information: displays hotel information in English and Japanese
*Information displayed in Japanese may not appear correctly on computers not set to display Japanese characters.
4 Reservation Information: displays customer reservation information when map is accessed from reservation screen
5 Call Center Information: displays contact information for inquiries in regards to reservations with JAPANiCAN or travel in Japan

Control Panel

1 Language Setting: toggles map contents in English or Japanese
2 Icon: toggles icons for each category on or off
  Hotel: displays area hotels available through JAPANiCAN
  Sightseeing Spots: displays local areas of interest
  Walking Route: dispays route between hotel and nearest station
* When no stations are within 4 kilometers of the hotel, no route is displayed

Map Screen

Navigation Controls

1 Directional Buttons: moves the display view
2 Center Button: centers map around hotel
3 Zoom Buttons: zooms map display in (up) or out (down)

Scale

Scale: displays approximate distance in a straight line

Icons

position of hotel nearest station
picturesque scenery shrine or temple
historical building or landmark public park or zoo
museum or art gallery tourist information center
theme park sports/outdoor area
activity area shopping/fashion location
hot spring location other point of interest
other hotels
*Clicking on the icon of an establishment with a separate page at JAPANiCAN will bring up that page

Operating Instructions

(1) Mouse Controls
Move Display: click and drag left mouse button
Zoom In: scroll mouse wheel forward or left double click
Zoom Out: scroll mouse wheel backwards
(2) Keyboard Controls
Display Movement: arrow keys or 2-4-6-8 on the number pad
Small Movement: Page Up-End-Page Down-Home keys, or 1-3-7-9 on the number pad
Center Map: C key or 5 on the number pad
Zoom In: + on the number pad
Zoom Out: - on the number pad
*Information listed on the access map is subject to change at any time. Please confirm relevant details with the hotel establishment.
*Specific geographical positions as indicated by map icons are subject to computer error. Please confirm by local map upon arriving at your destination.
