Japanese Beef

Japan has three types of beef that are synonymous with luxury and are famous around the world: Kobe beef, Matsusaka beef and Omi beef. You can experience different brands of beef in different regions of Japan. Staying in a ryokan is an excellent way to both unwind and savor the finest cuisine at the same time. HYOGO

Kobe-gyu, Tajima-gyu

Hyogo is a place that boasts plentiful resources and is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Himeji Castle which oozes both history and culture. When in Hyogo we recommend checking out nature spots such as Mt. Rokko or the prosperous Arima, Kinosaki, and Yumura hot springs. Hyogo is also rich in cuisine such as Kobe beef and Izushi soba as well as snow crab and delicious sake.

Gifu Prefecture is abundant with places of natural beauty, such as Ena Valley and Gero hot spring, a popular spa resort that dates back to the 10th century.

KYOTO, SHIGA

Kyoto is Japan's historical and cultural heart, capital for over 1,000 years, and a popular destination for travellers across the world.
Shiga is a region rich in nature with lots of places to visit such as Niji-no-matsubara (Rainbow Pine Grove) and Nanatsu-gama which is famous for a row of sea-eroded caverns.

TOHOKU

Tohoku is blessed with beautiful nature and is an excellent place to appreciate the specutacular seasonal views of autumn leaves, cherry blossoms, lush green forests and snow festivals. In addition, Tohoku also offers some of the finest hot springs in Japan.

HAKONE

Hakone is home to a variety of ryokan and at many of these you can savor the delights of luxury Hida-gyu beef and Shinshu-gyu beef.

Located 100 kilometers from Tokyo, the Hakone area boasts beautiful countryside and is one of the most visited destinations in Japan. Places to visit in Hakone include Hakone Shrine, Lake Ashinoko, Owakudani and Hakone Open Air Museum, amongst many others.

OKINAWA

Ishigaki-gyu, Miyako-gyu

Okinawa is located in the most southern part of Japan consisting of a main island and other islands such as Ishigaki, Iriomote and Miyako. Visitors can look forward to beautiful oceans and beaches, mouth-watering cuisine as well as one of the best aquariums in Japan.

KYUSHU

Kyushu is a mountainous area of Japan with active volcanoes and an abundant supply of hot spring water. It is the place to go to experience beaches, farms and modern cities. Kyushu boasts a variety of delicious foods such as Hakata ramen and mentaiko (spicy cod roe).
