A classic large Onsen resort hotel. Room was palatial & would still be spacious for 2. Ambiance is very relaxed & service is solicitous & overall very good. A perfect nearby place to chill out after Dewa Sanzan, especially if one spent a night on Gassan. However, English is almost nonexistent so some Japanese (the more the better) is needed. Package included only breakfast, which is a semi-buffet & quality if not great quantity. No dinner was not an issue as the quaint village has several restaurants & basic Shokudo ("diner-style") for lunch & dinner.
